Would you like to go mushroom hunting?

Lanullva Har du lyst til å dra på sopptur?

Here are some good tips that will make it easier to get out on a mushroom trip.

1. What do you need? Bring a basket or net to put the mushrooms in, a knife and a brush to clean them. A map and compass are always a good idea, as mushroom picking can quickly lead you off the most popular hiking trails.
2. Be confident in the mushrooms you pick. Bring a mushroom book or app to identify the ones you find, and never eat a mushroom you are not 100% sure of. If you are unsure, there are many mushroom inspections around the country, including digital ones.

3. Dress for the weather! Finding the mushrooms can be a bit of an adventure. It's a good idea to wear our breathable wool clothing under your jacket or on its own on warmer days.
During activity, air pockets in our knitting method release excess heat, preventing you from getting sweaty or cold. When you sit down to harvest the day's catch, you're still dry and just the right amount of warmth.

4. Choose the right terrain and forest. A much sought-after and easily recognizable mushroom for many is the chanterelle. These are often found in older spruce or birch forests, and thrive along well-trodden paths. Remember, where you find one, there are often more.
Good luck and have a good mushroom trip!
