Lanullva Vårt viktigste valg

The day Gunn Anne Vinje Lyngstad took over the family business and brand Lanullva, it wasn't just the world's warmest knitting method that was inherited.

The family at Lyngstad had always loved animals and the very special nature of Northwest Norway – it was therefore only natural that the woolen production should take place with respect for values such as renewability, the environment and good animal welfare.

In her search for the best suppliers of merino wool, Gunn Anne saw a lot of poor animal welfare on her travels around the world. Also within sheep farming and pure wool, there was a lot that was not right. Even major nations in sheep farming and wool production still treat their sheep badly – in many places!

And how can you as a customer feel sure that the fine wool sweater does not come from sheep that are in pain?

You won't have to worry about this when you buy from Lanullva. We make animal welfare our highest priority when choosing our partners, and all our merino wool is certified with the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) from Textile Exchange.

Mulesing-free wool - always!

None of the farms we source wool from practice the controversial treatment of mulesing. This would be a violation of the comprehensive certification scheme.

100% traceable wool - all the way from the farm to you.

The RWS protocol is strict when it comes to quality and certification of farms, nature management, and animal welfare. We love the collaboration with “our” merino farmers in Uruguay!

We have been there, in this soft and beautiful landscape, and seen it for ourselves. Not only are they kind to the animals, plants and nature around them – they also use advanced Blockchain technology to record everything they do during their work. The result is 100% traceability, from grazing to grooming, shearing, knitting and transport – to us and on to you.

All Lanullva garments are knitted with the world's finest merino wool from the world's best and happiest sheep – all certified by RWS.

"Back to nature is the future," a proud sheep farmer told Gunn Anne. Thank you for joining us on the journey.
